My near four week old still seems to poop with every diaper. She was four weeks early so I am thinking it might take her body a touch longer to adjust. Is that normal?
I have two other kids, but I just don't remember the poop being so soft and almost watery. I am guessing every baby is different too.
I guess I just want to hear what your babes have done.

Sun, May 4, 2008 - 11:45 PMmy five week early baby pooed every diaper for about 7 weeks. Her ped said that was completely normal. and yes, it was very very watery. I even changed her diaper a couple of times in the office visits and asked specifically if this looked right and she said it did.
preemies are strange. And it's not like you get to read up on them beforehand, you don't want to be paranoid, adn then after you have them, you of course have no time to read. hang in there momma. They get big only slightly slower than the other babies. Mine's 16+ lbs now at five months old today, HOORAY!!!!

Mon, May 5, 2008 - 9:57 AMour little one is a tiny bit over a month old and he has only had 5 poops total since the sticky tar pooh...i was freaked out becuase i thought that they were suppost to go several times a day in the early weeks...the doc said that he seemed ok and that every baby has their pattern.
