Cache mammals whose mothers leave them for 12 hours at a time, have the highest protein and fat in their milk. Carry mammals feed around the clock and their milk has low levels of fat and protein. Human milk, of all the mammalian animals, has the lowest levels of fat and protein. Moral of the story: Keeping baby physically close and feeding baby on cue, not on schedule, are biological imperatives for our infants.
