Is my brain being sucked out too?

topic posted Sat, June 7, 2008 - 7:28 PM by  *Birdy*
Lately I've been feel super spacey and unable to compete sentences/thoughts... and wit? Forget about it! Until now I thought it was sleep dep but I've had several weeks of full nights sleep and some good naps taboot, so I don't really have that excuse anymore. I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this? Are these guys emptying my brain and my breasts?

"Are these guys emptying my brain and my breasts?"

They sure are. I told my hubby that if he needs to tell me something or needs my attention, he needs to tap me first, after I look, then he can talk to me. Otherwise....I miss what's said to me.

BUT.....I can tell you exactly what time the baby woke up, napped, ate, what he ate and how much, how many times he pooped, peed and what he did today with no problem.

oh yes. i've lost reading and listening comprehension both. I feel like I'm a PEANUTS kid, wwaah wah waaah is all I hear when people are talking. My poor hubby thinks I am mad at him. I just don't hear him.

If I think of something I need to do or tell someone, I have to do it right that instant because it's a given that I won't remember it, no matter how important it is. I feel like a complete space cadet.

i know. i am constantly telling other teachers at school that i used to be very intelligent. luckily, most of them are mothers and say, welcome to the world of full-time teaching and being a mom. but i think i'd be like this even without the full-time (and then some) teaching job. sometimes i feel like i'm walking through a thick fog. some mamas have told me that you never really get all of your brain back. tell me that's not true! i need to be able to formulate complete sentences whenever i have to! :)

***BUT.....I can tell you exactly what time the baby woke up, napped, ate, what he ate and how much, how many times he pooped, peed and what he did today with no problem.***

it's a good thing that our brains can still remember the important things. ;)

heh heh. I felt that way for a while. I also read a wonderful book called "The Mommy Brain" sometime in my first few postpartum months and it helped my ego tremendously. Apparently our brains fare better after we've had and/or raised children despite how it feels.
