hi all!
I'm needing to buy a small manual pump for an upcoming weekend trip (gasp! first time away from baby) and i was wondering what style/models people liked. This won't be getting regular use, i don't forsee being away from my son again for any reason and i normally don't pump, just nurse on demand when i'm home from work. He's over 2 yrs old so this is more for comfort and connection while i'm gone than keeping him fed.
suggestions?

Re: manual pump?
Sat, June 21, 2008 - 10:38 AMi've heard the cylinder pump is very effective. i've never tried it, but had i done my research before settling for the one i have, i would have gotten a cylinder pump. -

Re: manual pump?
Sat, June 21, 2008 - 1:33 PMthe manual pump that came with my medela pump-in-style has worked for me when i just needed to pump a little here and there (mostly for my over-supply). it works with the same attachments.
that's my only experience. worked very well. good luck!

Re: manual pump?
Sun, June 22, 2008 - 1:46 PMThanks for the offer! I would take you up on it but i've only got 2 weeks to get pumping and at this point (if memory serves from when i quit pumping around 16 months i was getting mere dribbles) i need all the lead-time i can get.
Guess i'll just buy one. I mean, child #2 is waaay in the future, but at least i'll have it. -

Re: manual pump?
Sun, June 22, 2008 - 5:00 PMHi Jessica,
The easiest one to use that I have ever seen is Medela's Harmony hand-pump.

Re: manual pump?
Sun, July 6, 2008 - 7:41 PMI agree. I love my Harmony!! The piston pumps (from Medela kits) hurt your wrists after a while.
